Maria Morales serves as a Law Clerk at The Law Office of CN Norris where she supports the firm by reviewing case law, writing legal memorandums, and analyzing trial strategy.
Currently, Maria is a third-year law student and Juris Doctorate Candidate at DePaul University College of Law where she works as a research assistant and is founder and current president of DePaul University’s First Generation Law Student Organization. She holds 711 licensure and is certified in Know Your Rights training by First Defense Legal Aid and as a Legal Observer by National Lawyers Guild Chicago. In addition to working as a Law Clerk at The Law Office of CN Norris, Maria also works as a volunteer at Chicago Community Bond Fund and at Illinois Legal Aid Online. She is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, Chicago Bar Association, and the National Lawyers Guild.
Growing up on the south side of Chicago with heavy involvement in her community inspired Maria to pursue a legal career. She sees mass incarceration as a public health and civil issue affecting poor communities and communities of color. As a student and future practicing attorney, she hopes to use her skills and experiences to advocate for systematic reform. Working at The Law Office of CN Norris has helped her sharpen her skills to become a stronger advocate for her community and find creative ways to advocate for clients.
